Help kick off the monthly Second Wednesday Series this week!

The Native Beeology lecture last year was so popular, we decided to focus the spotlight on bees again.

So, instead of a lecture this month, you are invited to a special film screening!

We’ve joined forces with our friends at the Katonah Village Library, Katonah Village Improvement Society, and Bedford 2020 for a special viewing of “Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us?“.

Refreshments will be served and the screening will begin at 7pm on Wednesday, September 13 in the Garden Room of the Katonah Village Library. The 80-minute film will take you on a journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees and the mysterious world of the beehive. You’ll find this film to be engaging and ultimately uplifting. It weaves an unusual and dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists, and philosophers from around the world including Michael Pollan, Gunther Hauk, and Vandana Shiva. Together, they reveal both the problems and the solutions in renewing a culture in balance with nature.

Afterwards, stay for a Q&A session with Karen Sabbath from Hudson Valley Natural Beekeepers, Bill Day from the Pfeiffer Center, and Westchester Land Trust’s Dr. Shaun McCoshum.

No registration necessary– see you there!

(And please bring a reusable mug to reduce your ecological footprint.)
