Advocate

Bedford Audubon is committed to using science to shape conservation policy.

We advocate for birds, wildlife, and habitat protection in the communities we serve in Westchester and Putnam Counties and New York State. We’re part of the Atlantic Flyway, and recognize that the birds that breed here may migrate thousands, and even tens of thousands, of miles. We advocate for those species and their resources at the Flyway, National, and International levels.

This means we submit comments on proposed legislation or rule-making, activate our network of advocates (that’s you!) to contact elected officials, and help raise our collective voices for conservation to protect birds and habitat.

In order to keep you informed, we monitor breaking policy news through our Audubon and network in Albany and Washington, DC and our partners in Westchester County.
