Group Visits & Presentations
We pride ourselves on being the local authority on birds and habitat—and would love to share our passion with your students or group!
While our Sanctuaries and Leon Levy Native Garden are free and open to the public and we offer an impressive slate of free environmental education opportunities, we also offer customized programs for scheduled group visits, presentations, and special events that feature our professional staff while offsetting our cost of providing public programs at no charge. Because we’re often conducting conservation research or restoration projects, we need to plan ahead to make sure we can accommodate your groups of 10 or more so know you’ll have the best possible experience.
Group Visits to the Chestnut Ridge HawkwatchGroup visits (10 or more) to the Hawkwatch must be scheduled two weeks in advance with Bedford Audubon. We have a comprehensive STEM curriculum for high school environmental science classes, which can be modified for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Naturalist Clubs. Participants must be 12 years or older, and the cost is $15/participant with a minimum of $300. The 2.5-hour program is led by Bedford Audubon’s Naturalist-in-Residence, Lead Hawkwatch Counter, and Hawkwatch Interpreter & Spotter. School and other groups must provide adequate chaperones for the Hawkwatch. This program is available to be scheduled from 9am to 5pm seven days a week in September and October. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule your Hawkwatch field trip.
Leon Levy Native Garden ToursWe would be happy to lead your group on a tour of the Leon Levy Native Garden! This is a perfect outing for a Garden Club, Naturalist Club, or Homeowners’ Association looking to incorporate native plants into the community landscape. Group visits (10 or more) to the Native Garden must be scheduled two weeks in advance with Bedford Audubon. Garden Tours may be scheduled for May through September, and each month offers something new and different—so let us know what you’re most interested in seeing and learning about. The cost is $15/participant with a minimum of $300. Email email@example.com to schedule your Garden Tour now.
