Saturday, July 21, 10:00 am, Story Trail Walk. The Bedford Audubon will hold a field guided Story Trail walk for interested families on Saturday July 21 at 10:00 am. The objective of the Story Trail is to get children interested in nature while also allowing them to practice their reading skills. This trail inspires an appreciation for local New York wildlife. This event is free for members and open to the public. $10.00 fee per family (non-members).
Saturday, July 28, 8:15am-1:30pm, Field Trip: Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Join Naturalist Tait Johansson for high tide at the bay, which sends shorebirds in impressive numbers to the refuge’s East Pond. We should also see herons, egrets, Glossy Ibis, and many others! Bring binoculars, lunch, sunscreen, plenty of cold drinks, and boots/footwear you don’t mind getting muddy. Depart Bylane at 7 am or meet at Visitors Center at 8:15am.Cost: Free.
