Lecture: Love is for the Birds with Dr. Alan Clark

Please join us for our February 14th lecture (our monthly Second Wednesday Series) for “Love is for the Birds: Reproductive Strategies and More” presented by Biology Professor & Bedford Audubon President Dr. J. Alan Clark

Birds have an astonishing variety of approaches to dating – almost every mating system in the animal kingdom can be found in one or more species of birds.  Harems? Yes.  Polygamy? Sure.  Monogamy? Sometimes.  And the desire to be attractive to a potential mate has resulted in bird plumages of amazing brilliance and beauty.  Join us to learn more this Valentine’s Day.

Dr. Clark is a Professor of Conservation Biology at Fordham University and holds a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Washington, an M.S. in Natural Resource Policy from the University of Michigan, a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, as well as B.M.E. in Music Education and a B.A. in Religious Studies. He is Bedford Audubon’s Board President, and has chaired or served as advisor to several other Committees and Programs.

The program will be held in the Garden Room of the Katonah Village Library. Please join us for refreshments at 7pm, and the lecture begins at 7:30. No registration necessary– see you there!

(And please bring a reusable mug to reduce your ecological footprint.)
