Bedford Audubon Appoints New Executive Director

The Bedford Audubon Board of Directors is delighted to announce the appointment of Bill Cavers as the organization’s Executive Director effective September 29, 2021.

Bill comes to Bedford Audubon from Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) where he has been a Senior Fellow for the last 16 months, fundraising and starting up their Connecticut office.  Bill serves on two committees of the Long Island Sound Study, CLF’s Connecticut state advisory board and is also a long-standing member of the Town of Darien, Connecticut’s Coastal Commission.

Bill’s passion for environmental organizations and advocacy comes from his family’s heritage in public service and environmentalism, as well as from a lifetime of sailing along the New England coast.

Bill retired in 2017 from a 30-year career financing large-scale solar, wind and other clean energy projects.  He completed a nonprofit management program at UConn to transition his business skills and he has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University, an MA in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts/Harvard, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Bill and his wife Laura live in Darien, Connecticut, with their two children living nearby in Boston and New York City.

Please join us in welcoming Bill to Bedford Audubon and don’t hesitate to reach out to him with any questions or suggestions at 914-232-1999 or by email at executivedirector@bedfordaudubon.org.
