Rent the “Gray Owl” Cottage on our Hunt-Parker Sanctuary

Rent the “Gray Owl”, the Charming Cottage at our Hunt-Parker Sanctuary

The charming two-story Cottage is recently renovated! Imagine waking up to beautiful birdsong every morning, and walking out to the screened porch for your morning coffee or tea. Or watching lightening bugs zip around the fire pit as you roast marshmallows. It’s the best of both worlds– steps away from the backyard is 300 acres of wildlife sanctuary property and 8 miles of hiking trails, with the village of Katonah just a few minutes away.

During the day enjoy the stunning views from three large windows in the living room, and turn your attention at night to the brick fireplace. Enjoy a sun-filled dedicated dining room, or turn it into a home office or studio. The kitchen boasts floor to ceiling built-ins,  new microwave and refrigerator, and a propane stove. A generous mudroom or pantry with storage is just steps away. The two downstairs bedrooms are large and have closets– uncommon in a house from this era! Hardwood floors throughout the first floor, except for the  vintage-inspired bathroom, which sports black and white tile and a tub/shower combination.

Upstairs you’ll find a quiet bedroom with closet, and a large bonus room with exposed brick chimney. Use it as a family room, home office, or whatever your heart desires!

New paint throughout, tamper-resistant outlets, sophisticated and energy-efficient light fixtures (never change a light bulb again!), all Bedroom and bathroom windows are Energy-Star Andersen replacements, and new wall-to-wall carpet throughout the second floor. Full basement with laundry. Water, trash and recycling contract, furnace contract, mowing, and snow plowing is included. No smoking. Pets allowed with approval (cats must be indoors only).

The Cottage is located in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District (Increase Miller Elementary School). Equal travel time to either the Katonah or Goldens Bridge MetroNorth train stations. Easy access to Rt. 22 and Rt. 35, and I-684.

Perfect for young families, empty nesters, or someone with a home-based business.

We’re open to multiple-year leases (our last tenants stayed with us for nearly 7 years!).

Rent is $2,850/month. And it’s rent you can feel good about, since it supports your local Audubon Chapter! Our office is located across the street, so we’re on site and available when you need us.
