From Near and Far: Celebrating Birds Across the Americas is a selection of bird photographs captured by Bedford Audubon members throughout the Americas.
Beyond the birds we see locally, some of which are year-round residents and others of which are migratory, there is a vast world of fascinating bird species found elsewhere in the country and the world – over 11,000 species globally!
Our migratory birds travel along flyways extending from locations in North America south to Mexico, Central America, and as far south as the tip of South America. Where do “our” birds go when they head south? And what are some of the other bird species they meet on their wintering grounds? This exhibit showcases feathered friends from all parts of the Americas.
We hope the beautiful photographs in this exhibit will give viewers a better appreciation of the vast world of birds and will inspire more people to discover these birds themselves and help protect them and their habitats.
