That’s a Wrap on Bird-A-Thon 2025!

Thanks to the dedication of our eight intrepid teams, this year’s Bird-A-Thon has been a soaring success! From May 2- May 4, 2025, 37 determined birders scanned the skies — from local terrains in Northern Westchester, to the varied habitats of New York City, Connecticut and even as far as a backyard in Maine. Their mission: spot as many bird species as possible. Together, they identified an impressive 173 species and more than 3,500 individual birds!

And while their tallies will help researchers understand bird migration and nesting habits, their other goal was to raise the funds needed for our essential summer conservation work, which includes fostering the next generation of environmental leaders. Team members raised these funds by reaching out to friends and family members and asking them to show their support by either donating to Bedford Audubon in their team’s name, or by pledging an amount of money per bird species seen or heard.

This year’s Bird-A-Thon is over, but your support is always needed and appreciated!
