Why I’m passionate about Bedford Audubon:
I’m passionate about inspiring gardeners and homeowners to use more native plants—to support the birds, butterflies, and pollinators that we all love to see around us.
Bedford Audubon’s Native Garden is a great place to learn about what can be grown, and to see what you’ll attract if you do plant natives!
More about me:
I am a lifelong gardener, with an interest in historical and vegetable as well as native gardening. My parents were conservationists, so I’ve always been concerned with habitat preservation and nature study, but my present obsession with planting natives was sparked by Doug Tallamy’s “Bringing Nature Home”.
My favorite bird is the:
Kingfisher, because I love the way it hovers and then plunges into the water.
