13-14 Geminid meteor shower, mid-evening until dawn (though a Full Moon will make this typically prolific meteor shower harder to see well this year).

14 Full Moon.

15 Northern Mockingbirds still defending their territories against other fruit-eating birds like robins and waxwings, as well as other mockingbirds.

21 Winter Solstice, the day with shortest period of daylight of the year.
