BioBlitz 2007Ward Pound Ridge ReservationLocated in Pound Ridge, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is Westchester County's largest park. With its varied terrain , streams, meadows, open fields, and woodlands, the park provides great habitat for a large number of breeding birds. It is also the premier area for butterfly watching in New York State. This 4,700 acre park was purchased in 1924 as a wildlife sanctuary and recreation area. The park has 35 miles of hiking trails, including several self-guided nature trails. The Trailside Nature Museum hosts weekend nature interpretive programs year-round. A half-acre wildflower garden is located near the museum.
